WASHINGTON (AP) — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, a loyal supporter-turned-critic of President Donald Trump who faced his political retribution if she sought reelection, said Friday she is resigning from Congress in January.
Greene, in a more than 10-minute video posted online, explained her decision and said she didn’t want her congressional district “to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the president we all fought for,” she said.
The opening in her district means Republican Gov. Brian Kemp will have to set a special election date within 10 days of Greene’s resignation. Such a special election would fill out the remainder of Greene’s term through January 2027. Those elections could take place before the party primaries in May for the next two-year term.

Thank you for the very intelligent, wise, and objective reply Paul. The mental twisting is not doing us any favors with this. He made promises, he backed out of the those promises, and now anyone who tries to hold him to these promises he made he destroys.
This is not MTG’s fault... This is his fault for making those promises and then backing out of them. If he didn’t plan to keep them he should have never made them. I can’t believe how many are so willing to blame the victims who are trying to do the moral thing.
I know one thing... MAGA doesn’t need any enemies trying to destroy them, they are doing a great job of dividing and destroying themselves with their own nonobjective ignorance and extremism. I see no true positive future in this at all. They are setting themselves up for their own demise...
And in the meantime the One World Order is laughing all the way to the bank because Trump is doing their work for them. Because of his predictability they have him right where they want him. All they have to do is mention keywords and he jumps exactly where they predicted he would jump.

That is absolutely not true. Over the last year I have documented screenshot after screenshot of articles that were pulled right after being posted with no traces because they didn’t fit the purist Trump cult criteria around here. But I knew it was going to happen. I called it six months ago.
I knew as Mr Robinson became incapacitated and could no longer stay right on top on things purist moderators were going to start to fill that vacuum by taking more personal power and moderate with personal biases and prejudices. And here we are, just like clockwork I watched it and documented it start happening even before he passed... Did you think these actions would actually go completely unnoticed?
Once again... The purism is going to run everyone off and the domain will not be able to sustain itself. And you are not being honest at all about the purism happening here. I have the purism well documented because I have seen it before... As a domain owner myself it has been a project of mine to archive how selfish users of a domain slowly destroy the domain itself with their own personal biases.
