The Democrats recently trotted out six members of Congress with military or intelligence community experience to encourage soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and intelligence officials to disobey orders. Part of the oath we take is to obey the lawful orders of those appointed over us. These Dems talk about disobeying “unlawful” orders. What orders are they talking about? The military does a good job in training of explaining that if you are in combat and ordered to line up a bunch of civilians and execute them, you have a responsibility to disobey. I am unaware of any recent orders along those lines.
Are the Dems saying the B-2 pilots should have refused to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities? The refuelers should have refused to fly? The Patriot battery should have refused to shoot down Iranian missiles aimed at Israel? Those conducting attacks on drug boats should disobey? CIA analysts who discover the launch of drug boats should conceal their discoveries from superiors?
Actually, there is an historical example that could highlight this issue. During the Vietnam war Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara recommended and President Lyndon Johnson approved changing our strategic goal from win to tie. The decision occurred on November 5, 1966 and based on domestic political calculations relating to the 1968 election. The mechanism to achieve the new goal was to stop the open-ended commitment to victory and establish a troop ceiling beyond which we would not go. The administration wished to avoid mobilization or calling up the reserve and set the ceiling accordingly. The American commander in Vietnam, General William Westmoreland, advised that while we would not be defeated with the proposed force, neither would we win and it would be a prescription for an unreasonably protracted conflict. That was good enough for the Johnson administration.

How about disobeying unconstitutional laws. What do the ‘RATs think about that?
They need to be pinned down on what actual orders they claim were made that are supposed to be disobeyed.
What they are doing is intentionally skirting the line of criminal sedition without being legally actionable. To be arrested, they need to induce either general disobedience or a specific, lawful, order.
They clearly have weasel JAG officer advising them on how far they can go.
As it stands, they are merely restating military law (don’t obey an illegal order) albeit in a loaded manner.
Pin the weasels down, reporters. Do your job. Make them state what order is illegal.
It was just a rhetorical gimmick. They didn’t mean anything specific. I think it was along the lines of Democrats announcing: “If Donald Trump tells you to eat cyanide, you don’t have to do it, OK? You have my permission not to eat the cyanide that Donald Trump is asking you to eat.”
But no one is talking about cyanide. There is no cyanide. Donald Trump isn’t thinking about cyanide.
But the Democrat is stating something true. And it sounds helpful. And it implies some sort of moral superiority over Trump. Somehow. But it’s just useless advice that no one needs to hear.
Who is going to decide what is “unlawful” and how will GIs fighting their asses off in foxholes be able to get a hold of five FOS politicians and one nutty, lunatic “astronut” who looks like he should be playing Gollum in a fancy remake of “Load of the Rings”. Liz Cheney should be investigating these RAT Muzzie Terrorists and Illegal Aliens Supporters and charging them with insurrection and treason. They are supposed to be defending Americans from foreign invasion. These phony ass “veterans” work for the foreign invaders moving in to bring down America. ‘Veterans” my butt.
Or judges making law where it does not exist.
Slotkin was never in law enforcement or a lawyer, but she was a CIA intelligence analyst (contractor?) in Iraq. What we probably don’t hear about is how she wasn’t all that good at it until she failed up.
“They need to be pinned down on what actual orders they claim were made that are supposed to be disobeyed.”
An anchor on Fox News had one of them on yesterday and tried to do just that.
He wouldn’t shut up and at the same time wouldn’t answer her question about what exactly Trumps unlawful orders were.
They’re just trying to cause disruptions, are desperate, throwing crap at the wall and hoping it sticks.
The rats are speaking directly to extreme leftists embedded within our military.
Part of me believes this might just be an op to root them out. Even so, it is an opportunity.
It is that, but more. They are trying to tell The Big Lie again -- to make sympathetic military members believe that any order they might disagree with could be refused on those grounds.
It's their typical tactic of repeat, repeat, repeat, and eventually somebody believes -- and implements -- it. It's sinister, it's infectious, and it's a low-level attempt to discredit and overthrow this government.
They lock us down again that WILL be thrown in their face, just before the hammer.
Yep, you pegged the ulterior motive correctly. It’s the same tactic they use to surreptitiously motivate gullible, feeble-minded assassins.
They don’t like the Dept. of War shooting drug boats. They didn’t like destroying Iranian nuke sites. They don’t want Pres. Trump to take out Maduro. They don’t like anything Pres. Trump does or orders, because they didn’t ok it. If they wanted to do these things it would be ok. TDS stage 4.
She is also a thief. She stole that senate seat and the milk toast, lilly livered Rogers folded like a cheap lawn chair.
Pretty sure they were singing a different tune when it came to troops refusing con-vid shots claiming “unlawful orders”.
Are these Congress Clowns in the military chain of command?
I think what the rats are up to is this:
Issue a statement to ignore illegal orders.
Then when Trump issues an order, the dims will declare those orders to be illegal.
Just another game to make President Trumps job harder.
“Who is going to decide what is “unlawful”
The decision of what constitutes an unlawful order will be determined by your general court martial board.
“We follow orders or people die!”
