Excellent reporter and classy human being.
Again; I’m very sorry. On top of everything, my printer has gone kerflooey now, too...
Yes. Hunteer Biden is a crude ass.
The whole Biden family is trashy. (I don’t know about any personal peccadilloes of Beau. He may have been a decent fellow. If so, he was an exception.)
Well wen Beau died, ole Hunter quickly started banging Beau’s wife too.
That’s classy right there.
Maybe so.
Don't know about her personal life. Not interested.
My quarrel is with the word "beloved". It is a word with deep meaning. And almost no one is "beloved" outside their family and a few close friends.
Beloved is when their loss would be intense and long lasting not, "oh how sad, when is dinner."
Words mean things.
And clear communication is necessary for a civilization to function.
Call her respected. Call her dedicated. Call her thorough. Call her even renown.
But not beloved.
Admiration is a kind of love, perhaps the highest kind.
Devine always presents like an absolute lady, and she’s fearless, principled and a straight shooter.
Oooooops! Jamestown.
You see that is fine. Any of those adjectives would have been good.
Not sure if I agree that admired is a type of love. I can admire someone's work while thinking they are the type of human I would like to be kept far away from me.
But beloved is even beyond love to the highest emotional attachment possible.
You want to be with them and their being around delights you. Even when they are being an annoying pain in your rear you cherish their very existence.
It is a category into which very few people will fall in your life time. If you are very nice and lucky it is a category into which you will be placed by a special few.
It is not a word that should be cheapened like "brave" has been. Calling someone "brave" is almost an insult now.
So maybe I overreacted to the word being thrown around casually.
Or maybe not.
I think admiration for someone of good character is very much akin to Aristotle’s concept of ‘philia’.
I think President Trump is loved in a certain way by many of us. It’s often been expressed by individuals here.
THE DRUGS CANNOT TAKE HIM SOON ENOUGH
You're right on this - it was a poor choice of words...
Why would he say she is horrendously ugly? I think she looks devine. Seriously, she is an attractive woman.
I disagree.
Admiration is a bit detached. You do not have to love the person in any way to admire them.
I think President Trump is loved in a certain way by many of us. It's often been expressed by individuals here.
In a certain way. Yes. Sort of the way we can say we "love" something while fully aware that we will discard it when it is no longer useful.
Boy, does that sound cynical. It is not meant to be. Just realistic. Which is almost indistinguishable any more.
Anyhow I have registered my objection to throwing the word "Beloved" around carelessly and people may agree or disagree.
He is definitely his father’s son.
So, when’s he going to run for president? I mean, he IS the smartest man his father knows.
I agree about Kelly.
He meant it in a good way...
NOT in any way a problematic issue for me.
I’ve done it a few times [with much more modest examples,] and do appreciate examining the nuances of similar escapades here at FR.
It’s all good.
I did it once before in a private freepmail. I’ll have to be more careful...
