Over the past couple of days, my fellow pro-life student leaders and I witnessed first-hand the hostility that many young adults have to the idea that unborn babies shouldn’t be murdered in the womb.
Students for Life of America spokesperson Lydia Taylor Davis held a speaking event Monday on my campus, the University of Mary Washington, during her “Make Gen Z Anti-Abortion” tour.
I’m on the leadership team of Students for Life of America’s University of Mary Washington chapter. Throughout the weeks leading up to that event, our flyers advertising it were frequently taken down by other students.
In light of that, we focused on a longer lasting way of getting our message out: The Spirit Rock, a boulder on a high-traffic route on campus that clubs recognized by UMW’s Office of Student Engagement and Activities can paint to advertise their upcoming events.
UMW Students for Life initially painted the Spirit Rock on Saturday. However, the rock was painted over with non-latex paint that night by a group of people. The use of non-latex paint on the Spirit Rock is against school policy.
UMW Students for Life repainted the rock the next day. Within hours, however, our chapter president debated a group of students who decided it needed to be spray-painted a second time.
A clip of that debate was posted on Davis’s Instagram, which received over 4,600 likes at the time of this writing.
In the video, one of the spray-painters said, “If someone I care about wants to get an abortion, I will stick a coat hanger up them if they want me to.”
The video also shows another male student spray-painting over the rock while saying: “I’m not planning on being civil with people who want to take away what I perceive as a human right.” He also encouraged people to show up at our event to “make fun of y’all.”
Throughout this entire sequence of events, several concerning comments also were posted by students on Yik Yak, an anonymous social media platform that’s popular on our campus.
Many of these posts fell under what you would expect from someone who uses college as an excuse to extend their adolescence, such as one that said they were going to “pee on the floor” during the event. Fortunately, to the best of my knowledge, they didn’t follow through with that enterprise.
However, some posts carried a more threatening tone, such as one user that asked if someone could dox our pro-life chapter.
During the tabling and speaking events, some people in the crowd frequently heckled Davis, but otherwise the outreach was peaceful. Throughout the speaking event in the evening, the protestors, some of whom were masked, were lined along the wall of the ballroom (pictured). Throughout Davis’s three-hour “Ask Me Anything” talk, she emphasized that life scientifically begins at conception, that both the lives of the mother and of the unborn baby matter, and that communities should support mothers dealing with difficult pregnancy situations.
Regardless of the hostility we experienced, UMW Students for Life will continue taking the high road until we reach our destination: A Fredericksburg where every person’s right to life is protected, born or unborn.

I notice that the idiots who love abortion SO damn much have already been born. Maybe they can do everyone a favor and self abort themselves, Id drive them to Planned Parenthood myself
But they’re not the fascists.
Some do, others join UMW Students for Life or Students for Life of America. Fortunately it isn’t all one sided.
Some years ago Harvard U. law students had a pro-life group called ‘Culture Shock’ where they exposed their peers to the idea of being pro-life. It is an ongoing battle.
If half of our universities close where will parents send all their five year olds?
Permanently expel any of them who are students.
To work for Soros as professional protestors.
College is basically adult daycare for empty nesters that want to be rid of their kids.
After the sacrifice of ~65 million infants to Moloch, I believe that the USA is seriously in need of an exorcism!
That’s the sad truth.
Well, leftism and mental illness do go hand in hand together, like peanut butter and jelly.
Big time.
Pronto.
It’s as Ronald Reagan said, everyone who is for abortion has already been born.
That’s right.

these are the ‘educated elite’ ??
no.
they’re just street animals given a more deserving person’s spot at university.
Parents today are raising PURE EVIL KIDS!
Life education begins with the parents sadly many don’t know how to do it or to lazy or hopeless cases themselves.
