Congratulation! Today is MY 25th anniversary, too!
My 25th FR anniversary is November 22!
GET OFF MY LAWN!!! :)
The first street corner activism I ever did was in Nov/Dec 2000, as part of a local Gore-No-More campaign. BeaversMom organized it in Louisville CO on S. Boulder Rd at Via Appia Way. Freepers TRTeamer, my sister MollynMe and myself were there too, as well as my 77-yr old parents from Boulder and my 9-year old daughter.
I believe it was TRTeamer who downloaded the "Sore-Loserman" image from FR and made it into a full-sized poster: ==>
A year later, as the leftists held street-corner events to protest Dubya's "evil" persecution of Bin Laden & Buddies by invading poor little helpless innocent Afghanistan, I was out on the street corners again, in at least 6 or 7 locations up & down the CO Front Range, almost always with other Freepers, as part of Operation Infinite Freep. This time it lasted for years, not months - every Sat at noon usually. After the Obamessiah's election, the leftists all went home, so both we Freepers and the local VFW post contingent disappeared from view as well.
Ahh, good times! And hopefully in the days ahead, I'll be able to join other COLO Freepers to counter-freep the new leftist protests. I've already been out once this year all on my own, to counter-protest a nearby anti-Tesla/Musk/Trump demonstration. I still had my "PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE LEFTISTS" sign from 2002 - tattered but still usable, and wore my imitation highway patrolman outfit (leather jacket + dark glasses + my genuine beaverskin US NPS park ranger hat I wore in the mid 70s as a seasonal), and enjoyed the reactions from both sides. LOL!
I'm also now considering mocking the NO KINGS crowd, by making a "NO QUEENS!" sign picturing some random Drag Queen inside a circle w/ a red line through it. Then when I'm confronted, I can claim how embarrassed I am that my poor hearing made me hear "queens" when organizers had actually said "kings" ... but now that I'm there, there's no time to go home and fix the sign, so I may as well contribute to their big event with the sign that I *do* have with me!
