That was a major blessing for all who would’ve been on that flight!
My cell phone had a “Halt, Melt and Catch Fire” error in my pocket about 10 - 15 years ago. Fortunately I was at home and could dump it without injury. Definitely a battery problem and the phone was old.
Overfilled a Zippo and put it in my pocket once.
Ouch.
