Better to go to standard time permanently. But the reason given here is deranged.

I think the preference on this issue is usually related to where you live and your degree of outdoor life. If you are in Maine and do not want sunset before 4PM (or close to it in Northern states) and like the outdoors, then DST would likely be your preference. But the reason for more votes from the left is mostly due to populous cities with their leftist base, and which also have more lighting and shorter distances to voting places.
