The doe got up & started eating grass. The buck finally got up & stood there stamping his right foot (they do that when alarmed about something). As he stood there, a small bird landed on his back hock & he picked his leg up to shoo it off. The bird then landed on his back, then flew up to his head after which it took turns sitting on each of his antlers. The deer ignored all of the fluttering around his face.
He finally turned and started walking down the fence line at which point I noticed a buck on the other side of the fence & his rack looked bigger. The first buck turned & paralleled the other buck for a bit, seemed very interested in him.
So the doe eventually came the first buck's way and had just passed him when he gave her a look & took off after her. She bolted for the back field and was soon out of sight with him in hot pursuit. Prior to seeing the 2nd buck, the first buck had paid the doe no attention, but once the 2nd buck showed up, first buck was all "business".
The sun had risen, but it takes a while for the sun to make it over the mountain so the light became really pretty as the sun appeared (2nd pic) & nature is always interesting.
I did take pics, but they are poor quality - my phone has a really crappy camera.
