YouTube TV customers watched ESPN go dark Thursday night as talks between the Google-owned platform and sports network broke down, leading the channel — along with other Disney-operated channels — to disappear from the platform.
A deal between the two sides could not be reached, and by late Thursday night, the stations, which include ABC, FX, Disney Jr. and National Geographic, along with ESPN channels, went dark for more than 10 million YouTube TV customers, escalating the prolonged back-and-forth between the two sides.
At the heart of the issues is pricing, according to Sports Business Journal, with both sides pointing the finger at the other in dueling statements released on Thursday night.

Whoop Dee Doo. I’ve never once watched ESPN.
Here’s a quarter …
Disney just bought Fubo TV, so they are now a direct competitor.
This one could be ugly
Oh, noes! Annnnnnnd, I’m over it.
Media companies need to be broken up.....hard!
I can do without Disney. You Tube can lower my price by $20/mth and if I want to buy Disney/ESPN/ABC I have that choice.
“No. 5 Georgia vs. Florida on ABC”

My OTA antenna just kept me from being divorced!
If YouTube TV is unable to reach a contract agreement with Disney and the channels are removed, it has stated it will offer subscribers a $20 credit on their monthly bill. The channels, including ABC and ESPN, were recently pulled from the platform due to an ongoing dispute over fees.
That’s a win for You Tube Subscribers
LOL, you can pretty much watch any game on YouTube for free. They can’t catch all the people who are streaming the games.
(But you didn’t hear that from me)
Maybe we’ll finally be able to get a la carte deals, where we only pay for the channels we want..........Naaaaah!
Yep. I was able to watch a couple of the early season UF games on YouTube.....nfl however not so much.
They can't let that happen, who would subscribe to dozens of worthless channels they put in their packages.
Let’s see. Disney and YouTube are both left wing-am I right?
It’s like the Sunni vs. Shia and we’re the Middle East-can’t get on with our lives or can we?
My smart tv. How dies it pick up the local channels? Tried it.
Did anyone notice?
What are ESPN’s viewership numbers these days? I don’t watch very often at all - sometimes tune in to First Take and Stephen A. for old time’s sake, but that’s about it. The glory days of ESPN for me were when Chris Berman, Tom Jackson and Mel Kiper dominated football season.
Stuart Scott (RIP) and Rich Eisen were a good team.
I don’t know the viewership #s but other than the occasional college football game, I couldn’t care.
Same with abc.....at least you can pick it up with an ota antenna.
I can’t believe Chris Berman is still on the air. He has to be like 100 years old.
He isn’t bad at all.
