Excellent point. Another question I’d like answered (if it would be possible to get the data) is how much gold is owned by citizens too? I want not just the government to have a stable gold backing, I want a significant number of citizens to have financial backing too. That reduces the likelihood of internal chaos (aside from the shallow attention seekers on the left doing “protests” that they don’t even know what they’re protesting for).
I guess what I am trying to convey, is that getting an accurate number on that is most likely impossible in the U.S., and definitely imposasible in other nations also.
If the accuracy of the gold reserves actually belonging to the U.S. is questionable, then you certainly do not believe an accurate amount could be achieved for privately held gold by citizens would actual be worth anywhere near a reliable value, do you?
The effort to attempt it would be an exercise in futility.
