In the early, early morning Tuesday, in the aftermath of Game 3, Blue Jays manager John Schneider was quick to remind reporters that the defending champion Dodgers “didn’t win the World Series, they won a game.”

Yup. We went slowly down the socialist European route, thanks to that creep, Pierre Elliott Trudeau. His criminal fruitcake son helped finish things off.
I was young when “Trudeaumania” hit Canada. People were practically fainting at the mention of his name. It was similar to the Obama craze.

Okay, I’m done now.
...and much appreciated, at least on this issue anyway. I had not contemplated the impact as you have. Sounds to me like DJT could run with the idea.

:: A feat that will again be repeated. ::
Will NEVER AGAIN be repeated.
MotorCity grinding...
I am rooting for them because they have not won in so long and I want Max Scherzer to get his third WS win.
Agree!
Right!
I never did care for Gibson. As for his being a TV commentator for the Tigers, I thought he was boring as heck.
I was at one of those world series games, seated in the right field upper deck.
My buddy's wife and her sister stood in line all night to get tickets to the game. Seated next to me was my company's purchasing manager who was given his tickets by one of our company's vendors.....LOL!
A record that will likely never be repeated. McLain had the world by the tail but he turned into such a scumbag.....
Toronto is one of the most soulless cities in No America... knew some church planters who took on the task and had some success given the huge need... Otani is the best reason to root for the Dodgers and hate on the Canadian commies.... ymmv
I have to be happy for them...it’s not like Canada has much else to celebrate at the moment.

True..... Lots of factors but Trudeau the Younger and now Carney are sure doing their part to perpetuate my regular comments to my brother-in-law who has a home in Collingwood that ‘Canada is done.... ‘. Sad but I think it too easy to produce a set of bullet points that make that case. It would be good if Poilievre could give Canadians a sense that he could turn it around but liberalism is now so entrenched, that might only be possible with Divine intervention.
McLasin and Lolich BOTH had the world by the tail in 1968.
1971 saw Lolich win 25 games.
These are the feats that will never be repeated (since the Frydrych fiasco on opening day in 1977)
Too soon?
Too damn cold.
Rotator cuff..
The original cost of the Blue Jays was around 7 and half million back in 1976/77. That was the expansion fee paid to the American League.
It’s an incredibly dicey situation for Poilievre. Canadians are so saturated in TDS, and our media is a rabid voice for the libs, they’re just waiting to pounce on Poilievre if he even hints that he doesn’t hate the orange man. He’s got some pretty tough terrain to navigate.
Lol I thought the same thing. I heard reports they were boo’d. Hope so!
