Growing up, my mother made a few jars of rose hip jam every year. It wasn’t my favorite. I like raspberry or strawberry. I’m a peasant I guess.

We have rose hips all over our place. The best part about living in the woods are the wild berries. Raspberries, choke cherrys, saskatoons, strawberries, plums and a few others. All good!

Dr. Magnus Pyke (the “mad scientist” in Thomas Dolby’s song and video “She Blinded Me With Science”) is also known for having promoted rose hip syrup as a source of Vitamin C in the UK during WWII shortages, when it was difficult to get orange juice.
