It’s almost time.
Keep the wheels down.
A few more races before F1 goes Apple dark!!!
Sad times for enthusiasts on FR.
Will the 2025 season finish out before Apple gets their grubby mitts on F1’s broadcast rights?
If you’ve got anything on this situation, please post it here.
Next year F1 is pay only.
I just might go back to F1.com’s subscription, or is that to be owned by Apple, too?
I received an email from F1 telling me that I cannot renew my subscription, and that I can go to Apple as of January.
Aw crap, I was afraid that was the case.
They are way ahead of you. It also requires an apple subscription. Rats!
Anyone ever drive in Mexico City? Those speed bumps will destroy your car or truck in a heartbeat.
Nuts.
I can watch full highlights on YT, so I guess that’s it for when it happens.
About a decade ago F1 stopped the BBC from broadcasting live F1 races and created a Sky Sports subscription...it was unpopular at the time but it is doing well as a business model.
The Apple TV deal is similar...
I’ll be happy to pay — currently I pay an extra $10.00 per month to Dish Network to receive ALL of the available ESPN (I dislike ESPN immensely) channels so I can watch F1.
I will downgrade my Dish subscription at years end...
I’ve never had any urge to go to a third world hellhole, even back in my college years in IA.
Here is the difference:
UK (Sky): British Grand Prix is on Channel 4 LIVE as a 4 Production.
AUS (DAZN): Australian Grand Prix is on Network 10 LIVE as a CBS Sports (acquired the network in 2017) production.
There is no local broadcaster for Miami, Austin, or Vegas in the United States.
Apple can deny all video posted by F1 for United States consumption. They can deny American media.
This is likely going to lead to a federal investigation into premium paywalls with the 2031 Women’s World Cup being under Obama’s paywall the way F1 will be on Tim Cook’s paywall if Ford, GM, and Volkswagen complain (and I predict numerous complaints by sponsors). We know premium killed boxing.
Apple is responsible for bringing “Bad Bunny” for Super Bowl halftime. Now they’re making F1 for the elitists.
Time to explore VPN and English Sport TV…..
