President Donald Trump has called off a "surge" of federal agents and troops in San Francisco planned for this weekend after speaking with local officials.
"The Federal Government was preparing to ‘surge’ San Francisco, California, on Saturday, but friends of mine who live in the area called last night to ask me not to go forward with the surge in that the Mayor, Daniel Lurie, was making substantial progress," Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday. "I spoke to Mayor Lurie last night, and he asked, very nicely, that I give him a chance to see if he can turn it around."

San Francisco is not Washington DC...There is nothing wrong with the federal government intervention in DC...After all, it is this country's capital...
San Francisco is not the capital of this country...I think that SF officials should deal with crime...Mayor Lurie could ask Gavin Newsom if SFPD needs more help...Newsom could send in CHP officers and National Guard soldiers...
How about Memphis? Local officials filed a lawsuit against the GOP governor of TN to remove National Guard from Memphis...

National Guard in Memphis is being controlled by Governor Bill Lee...Not federal government...
I have no problem if President uses National Guard to protect federal properties... Using National Guard to fight crime in general...I think that it would be nice to have support of local elected officials in such a case...That is not going happen in CA...

I’m ok with Trump delaying the takeover of SF, due to local actions, but overall, we have to decide whether DEI’s should be allowed to seize our cities and set up their own justice systems, systems that only prosecutes non-DEIs no matter how horrific the crimes, no different than what’s going on with Sharia in Europe with Muslims.
And if the above is ok with people here, then the proper response is to then let the Potentates finance their fiefdom’s themselves, rather than sucking the finances out of the still-civilized areas of the country.
Maybe Trump is negotiating with Mexico to see if Mexico will take San Francisco back. It would give them a Major League Baseball team.

I remember reading that car break-ins are so common there that people just leave their cars unlocked so they don’t have the expense of getting their windows or doors repaired.
I’m in SF, and Lurie seems like a nice guy who’s trying to do his best for a town that lost its way. From what I’ve seen, Lurie seems like a decent enough fellow... unlike his cousin-by-marriage, Rep. Dan Goldman who’s a TDS-suffering psycho.
Democrats are really po’d that Trump is so reasonable. He makes and follows through with decisions based on how good they are for the people; regardless of whether such decisions promote or harm the interests of the Party.
In my opinion, he has more integrity than any other elected official I’ve ever heard of.
They’ll need special suits to clean up the feces etc. etc. so it will take time to get ready for a job like that.

By all reports, Lurie is actually starting to turn things around in SF. Market Street is still like something out of Dhalgren, but locals say things are getting better.
