Wow you’re right . Most have no idea that ball players, in all sports, had off season jobs. My uncle worked in insurance with a company in San Francisco. One of his co workers was NY Giants QB Y A Tittle. Tittle who was only behind Johnny Unitas as the NFL ‘s best QB was selling business insurance from January to June.

I recall that Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, and Jim Palmer all sold men’s suits. Billy Gardener, player and long-time coach and manager, was a meat salesman. Lived to 96.
