Our then-7 year old son found a wallet with $100 cash nearly 25 years ago. I asked him “What should you do with it?” He thought a bit and replied “Somebody lost it and they should get it back.” I drove him to the PD and he turned it in. Four or six weeks later it was unclaimed and he got the money. I was very proud of him.

Something similar happened to me. I took the money and tossed the wallet where someone would find it and say nothing to my father. My fingerprints weren't on file at that time
