Well, the thieves did bother to steal them, so I suppose you are right... ;-)
Be on the lookout for Sir Charles Phantom, the notorious Lytton.
Ah, yes, aka The Juggler; one of David Niven’s most popular roles.
Yeah, look up “paste”. It’s been used for about two hundred years to duplicate real jewels. At a distance of a meter or so, no casual observer knows, or cares. They are only in the tourist spot to experience their moment, and it doesn’t matter if the the thing is real or fake as long as it has been promoted as being real.
(Hmmm, what a great comparison I’ve just made.)
I liked Christopher Plummer’s version myself.
No Kings, no need for Crown Jewels, I guess.
Paracord bracelets are in now.
I’m trying to have SOME concern about this ...but honestly who cares about jewels from Napoleans era. Jewelry has never made any sense to me and I see no realistic value in it except to persons who obtain it for reasons beyond my comprehension. Shelter/food/clothing/plumbing/transportation/cleaning supplies/electricity/law/ and the most important is a relationship to God. Beyond these things jewelry is a burden of adornment and vanity.
Inside job.
Crazy. You would think they’d have enough cameras and security to make this impossible... maybe in the top 5 on the planet next to the White House or the Vatican.
Great ‘security’ ya got there, Frenchie!
Calling Inspector Clouseau!
Detectives have one lead....
One jewel was named for a unique flaw: when viewed closely, an inclusion inside the diamond resembles a “leaping pink panther”. Pink Panther (1963).
Probably on their way to sit for a long time in a wealthy criminal’s collection, or criminal leader’s collection, or are already being split into smaller pieces and the metals melted down.
Either that or all the jewels cannibalized and sold on the open market for whatever the jewels are selling for.
“Inside job.”
Yeah, I’m thinking this too.
