I have GERD. I also have IBD- inflammatory bowel disease. These are chronic conditions. The way I see it, diseases can be spread. Chronic conditions can’t. They may be passed on genetically, but not spread.

I don’t care what they’re called…

Diabetes, GERD, hypertension, etc, all chronic conditions, are not contagious but they CAN be spread (by whom you know well).
If they can’t, then why on Earth do they become so widespread now?

It is an idiopathic functional/mechanical malady if you will, and tends to be chronic. Like so many other such conditions...cpps, interstitial cystitis, etc...I’m convinced they are stress/anxiety based. Doctors know a lot about them but just not how to fix them. There is a vicious cycle feedback loop involved...anxiety/stress creates the pain which feeds anxiety which feeds the pain and on and on. Where it focuses depends on ths individual. The trick is to break out of the cycle by escaping anxiety/stress. Good luck on that!
