Very bad advice. Until they are legally a deadly threat you can not do this in Texas. Once they break the door kill them. Killing just one entering the door will have any others evaluating their life expectancy and making sound decisions. I live out in the countryside. The cops are at least 10 to 15 minutes away. One must be his own defender. I had what I think was an attempt. It was late at night and there was a knock on my door about 11pm. A very pretty young woman was in front of two young men. I answered the door with a Glock in hand with a green laser on. She rapidly said they were at the wrong address. If no one had answered they door I suspect they would have broken it down. If that was the case, that young woman would be dead along with her companions.
This is Texas and it is legal. I love Texas!

What about the up-to-no-good-after-dark law there? They were up to no good, even to the point of going around to the back door, which is legally trespassing.
