Normally we would pay little attention to a statewide Attorney General campaign race debate. HOWEVER, this is Jay Jones in Virginia we are talking about so there is a possibility of YUUUUUGE fireworks during this debate tonight which could also affect the governor's race. In case you have been living in a cave for the past couple of weeks, Jones was favored to win this race over incumbent Jason Miyares UNTIL it was revealed on Oct. 3, that Jones in 2022 had sent text messages threatening to kill a former Virginia House Speaker with two bullets to the head.
According to Newsweek, Jones' chance of victory now appears to be DOA as you can read in this article just published today: Jay Jones’ Chances of Winning Virginia AG Race Plummet—Betting Odds.
Don't be surprised if Jones, since he has nothing to lose, goes full Kamikaze during the debate resulting in massive fireworks. Also don't be surprised to see Jones try to pull a "...But Trump" defense in which he apologizes but then tries to shift the focus to attacking Trump.
The debate will be carried live from 6 to 7:30 PM today via the debate venue, the University of Richmond School of Law website but I am sure you can also watch it via various YouTube channels.
Cough, cough, sniffle. “This is Jay Jones.” Cough, sneeze, groan. “I won’t be able to make the debate tonight. I’m sick.” Cough, grunt, groan.
The ‘moderators’ will cover for him.
The fact that he hasn't dropped out yet means he thinks he has nothing to lose by going Kamikaze tonight. Or maybe he plans on making a ton of money by placing a substantial amount on "YES" at the Kalshi betting market which shows that right now at 12% for Jones to drop out and will go much lower by election day.
He said nothing the average democrat doesn’t believe.

BTW, on a somewhat related side note... Someone has noticed that on Kalshi the betting market for YES Democrat has been kept artificially high by $10,000 wagers being placed there recently which doesn’t make much sense since Spanberger’s disastrous debate performance last week. It is being speculated that the Democrats are trying to keep her position on Kalshi higher than it should be in an astroturf effort to convince people her campaign is doing well since who, in their right mind would go YES on Spanberger just to win about $800 while risking the loss of $10,000? The risk/reward factor there definitely does NOT add up.
TEN minutes until the debate begins. My hope is that Jay Jones goes full Shmuck so as to make it worse for Spanberger. Hey, I’ll even be happy if he just goes “Remorseful” Shmuck which would also hurt Spanberger in the election.
TWO minutes until Showtime. Break out the popcorn because entertaining pathos FIREWORKS could be ahead!
