If they actually kept playing music, they would have kept it going for a while yet.
But YouTube and other streaming services really helped kill it as well.
I disagree with some here that music videos have “died”. In fact, I wonder how many views music vids on You Tube have had in just the last 10 years. The number has to be pretty astounding. And that’s just one source, tho’ it may be the biggest?
Granted that I don’t watch much of any “big view numbers” vids. My taste is more toward music not so much geared for the masses. It tends to be higher quality, IMO.
