wine is too expensive. no wonder consumption is down. "Two Buck Chuck" (Charles Schwab) is grown in California, it is not expensive, and is very good at the price point.

California wines are indeed overpriced. The big box stores are selling quality Argentine Malbec for less than ten bucks. There is nothing comparable with a USA label.

I’ve heard people are substituting weed for alcohol these days. Don’t know how much this would impact the wine industry.

I love red wine but it is too pricey and I can’t drink the crappy stuff anymore.

Only in America, capitalism, is too much goods a bad thing!!
Funny. Too much good weatger, too much good “gardening”. Too much good marketing.
Welcome to farming, except....AGE THE WINE AND STOP WHINING!
The market has to correct itself like all other industries must.
How about more foods made with wine on youtube? Push wine flavored burger sauces for restaurants....

wine is too expensive. no wonder consumption is down. I found a CA brand called Liberty Creek at less than ten dollars for a 1.5 liter bottle. Since I sometimes cook with wine and it wouldn't go to waste if not very good, I bought a Pinot Grigio and a Merlot. Both are (in my judgement) worth double or more. The company is a supporter of Fields of Honor, a scholarship program for families of military and first responders.
