Medicare Advantage has always been a GWB scam to direct additional money to insurance companies without requiring itemized services for them.
It gets sold to old folks with the “no premiums” pitch, but then they find it won’t cover some of their essential medical needs (such as back surgery).
“then they find it won’t cover some of their essential medical needs (such as back surgery).”
My quilting friend was on Advantage, always bragging about the low/no cost. Then she fell and broke her neck. There was a surgical procedure to correct it, but Advantage wouldn’t approve it.
The other option besides surgery was stay in bed on her back for a few months — which she did, as she couldn’t afford to pay out of pocket.
