The Second Amendment should be number one as it protects all of the other amendments.

Exactly. And thanks be to God for James Madison who insisted it be included in The Bill Of Rights.
It’s not that the other Founders were not for it but they felt is was a given but Madison insisted it be included so there would never be any doubt about the right to ‘’Keep and bear Arms’’.
