A batch of desperate pleas for help repeatedly drew cops to a Staten Island horror house in the years before twisted teen Damien Hurstel allegedly decapitated his mom’s boyfriend inside the abode, The Post has learned.
The gorily dismembered beau — 45-year-old city Department of Sanitation worker Anthony Casalaspro — had been listed as the alleged perpetrator in at least five domestic violence-related 911 calls from the West Brighton home starting in 2021, sources revealed.
In the most recent report in 2023, sources said Casalaspro allegedly drunkenly attacked Hurstel before slapping the teen’s mom.

I blame the ‘mom’ who chose that jerk and stayed with him. Is it possible to be THAT desperate for a partner, to where you would subject your own child to violence and abuse???

I might buy a self-defense argument from this kid, especially if he was being abused for years, the authorities were repeatedly made aware, and no one did anything to stop it. There comes a point where a person realizes no one is coming to save them and that’s when they get desperate.
Who knows how bad it got? We read awful stories all the time about vile, sadistic behavior inflicted on children. #woodchipper
I blame the mom. She brought evil into her home and let it live there unchecked.

Reading the whole article, everyone sounds horrible. The son is a psycho. The step father is a criminal scumbag. The mother should have left the father and gotten the son into an institution but elected to stay in a dysfunctional situation. Now one person is dead and another will be charged with murder.

This creep was already told to leave the house earlier that day because he was drunk and menacing the family. He came back to the house after cops told him to stay away.
Long history of criminal behavior. Broke the mom’s leg during one attack.
There was a little sister in the house, as well. Who knows what he was doing to her.
This kid did society a FAVOR and took out the trash the adults in his life failed to clean up.
NOT GUILTY. Also, charge the mom, too!

Dunno about that. This could have been the Righteous Hand of Archangel Michael helping him serve up a little justice to the man who has been tormenting his family for so long. I grew up in a house like that. Thought about killing my mom’s husband daily. I lived under stress for a decade, and it most definitely changed me. I thank Him for not allowing me to act on my instincts to kill him, but I won’t condemn this kid for doing just that. Some men just need killing...
Sometimes two wrongs make a right. A vile domestic abuser is dead, and the nutcase who decapitated him will be put away in a mental institution. Seems like a win-win situation for society, assuming that the head-chopper isn’t released back to the streets any time soon. Perhaps he can convert to Islam while incarcerated?

It says “he wanted to know what it was like to kill someone.”
The son is 19. So, legally, he’s an adult.
The boyfriend had been with the mom for “nearly six years.” So, the son was about 13 or 14 when he first moved in.
The first domestic violence call was in 2021, and the son threatened suicide in 2022.
It seems his turbulent family life turned him into a murderer.
It’s hard for people with no experience of domestic violence to understand why a woman doesn’t just leave.
Once a man starts abusing a woman, he usually accompanies it by threats to kill her, kill her children, kill her parents or her pets if she tries to leave, or if she doesn’t keep on letting him come back. She becomes captive mentally — like “Stockholm Syndrome” — and starts believing the abuse is her fault, because he tells her that repeatedly when beating her.
