1. “Mass layoffs of white Americans” - the bulk of those affected are sales folks and a few techies. The racial breakdown isn’t available, but looking at linkedin the majority of these aren’t “white”.
2. Indians in the USA - both American citizens (whether first or second generation) and visa holders are ALSO affected. Many H1B workers were also laid off - read the Indian papers and you’ll see many stories about these.
3. These people and more importantly the ROLES aren’t being replaced, not with “fellow H1B Indians” nor by anyone else. These are roles such as sales, HR recruiters etc. who are being phased out by AI. Among the IT folks, I know scrum masters, project managers, middle managers who are affected and some techies in older tech. I personally think many of these layoffs is a mistake, but that’s a different question.
4. Why have you left off Elon Musk from this list? He laid off most of the Twitter workforce and also Tesla folks. He is also an H1B

Yep, since Elon Musk is H1B, then the barriers to H1B should all be taken down, since all H1B hires are another Elon Musk.

There are many, many proven cases of white Americans being laid off and replaced by H1B immigrants, or fresh out of college and not being hired because of H1B immigrants. H1B rules allow companies to save lots of money by hiring H1B immigrants.
Why are you so willing that Americans should be crowded out of the job market by H1B immigrants? Shouldn’t you be willing to lose your job to an H1B immigrant?
Unlike the others mentioned here, Musk didn't just become CEO of an American company that already existed and which was already huge. Musk started several companies such as Paypal, SpaceX, etc. He did take over Tesla but it was tiny and had no products to sell. He MADE that company. Along the way creating and growing these companies, Musk created hundreds of thousands of jobs for Americans. As for Twitter, the people fired were Leftist censors. They were exactly the people who needed to be fired. Freeing Twitter from the Deep State/Silicon Valley blob was of great service to America and the world - it did a helluva lot to restore freedom of speech which was rapidly being lost.
Look at the others. They rose through the ranks of companies they did not create or grow practically from scratch. They didn't create a lot of jobs. They were woke Leftist censors who did all they could to destroy freedom of speech and they pushed out Americans in favor of ever more H1B Indians every chance they got. Screw them. They're a cancer we neither need nor want.
