I want cheaper gold, not more expensive gold.

And I want to know when that cheaper gold is coming so I can capitalize on the peak. But foresight is NOT 20/20.

I recall being wise in the 1990s and buying a few ounces at under $300 each. There was an outfit, a guy in California, Tulving, that bought and sold gold back in those days, until the outfit went under. I think he operated with too narrow a spread between the buy and sell price, or didn't have adequate liquidity to deal with larger transactions. Anyway, that entity is gone, but in some areas, there are many coin shops that will buy and sell near spot, both coins and bullion if it's genuine.

I doubt the woman saying “black power” and threatening a “nation of our own” knows how to grow even a tomato much less “our own food”. Self responsibility within the frame work of our government would be a positive step instead of waiting to be taken care of by others. Start by leaving the Democrats plantation.

The newest NEC thing is these “tamper resistant” outlets - which make it sometimes extremely difficult to plug things in. They’re made to prevent kids from sticking an object into the outlet, but they built this house with them. Fortunately, I have 3 or 4 boxes of non-tapers resistant outlets and come winter, when there’s nothing to do outside, I will systematically change them out.

Another new rediculous thing they’ve done is that you can no longer have an outlet on the end of a kitchen island. Why? Because somewhere, someone’s stupid, unsupervised kid probably pulled a crockpot full of hot spaghetti sauce onto himself. So instead of blaming the errant parents that didn’t curb their kid, they punish everyone that buys a house instead. Sacrifice of the many to benefit the few.

That’s another job I’ll be doing this winter. I already have the flexible metal conduit, so all I need to do is run it from the junction box in the cabinet, behind the dishwasher, and over to the end of the island, where I’ll install a box and an outlet. I might even do GFI if I feel feisty enough. Unless the circuit is already GFI protected at the breaker.

AI:

The headline is misleading; the Supreme Court’s liberal justices (not the entire court) issued a scathing dissent arguing that nitrogen gas executions are likely a form of cruel and unusual punishment, according to CNN. The court’s majority declined to intervene in the case, allowing the execution to proceed, treadbylee.com. The dissenters wrote that the process likely inflicts “excruciating suffocation” and “psychological terror,” while the majority did not provide a reason for their decision, CNN.

***I might even do GFI if I feel feisty enough. Unless the circuit is already GFI protected at the breaker***

That was another gripe of mine, the last before I quit electrical - a GFI in the kitchen. What a waste! Have they ever noticed plastic water pipe, like PVC for example. I presumed that they were working towards ALL 120v circuits in the house being GFI (GFCI) protected.

If they wanted a useful improvement, require all kitchen counter receptacles to be 20 amp. I don't know how many burnt out 15 amp receptacles over the kitchen counters that I replaced for customers.

I am surprised that they still sell GFCI breakers. 🤔❓

I believe in choice on the part of the executionee (and if they don’t choose, a wheel of misfortune shall be spun, which will pick the method for them).

Choices are:
Firing Squad (with volunteers)
Ol’ Sparky (electric chair)
Lethal injection
Hanging (public for notorious people like politicians and mob bosses)
Explosives
Helicopter rides over open water, with cement shoes

Yes, 20 amp receptacles in the kitchen. All those heating appliances are drawing near 1000 watts, or more. Electric fry pans, coffee makers, deep fryers.

As for the GFI, a proper 3-prong cord ought to suffice. I do vaguely remember the faulted heating element in my mother’s electric frying pan causing some issues when she took a metal spatula to the metal pan and got a little jolt. Chop Sui all over the kitchen on that one. Mom almost swore!

If the metal appliance were grounded to the grounding prong, and thus back to the main box and earth, it would have tripped the breaker (blew the fuse in that case) and she wouldn’t have gotten an exciting jolt. This event was circa around 1970 or so. I remember dad subsequently buying her a new electric frying pan, and wiring in a couple of new kitchen outlets along the counter, and using 20 amp outlets instead of the standard 15.

Hey Meyer.

I sent you a pm. I used to live in Northeastern Ohio and can answer a lot of questions about the area, seasons, sunlight, places to see in the state etc.
