In March, when we “spring forth” for DST, the clocks move one hour ahead/later, so 4:00 in what was standard time is now 5:00 during DST. I didn’t think anyone was suggesting we have DST all year round. I thought the suggestion was to do away with DST and have standard time all year round. Nevertheless, if we did have DST year round, when it used to get dark where you are at 4:00 in standard time, it would now be 5:00 in DST.
In the 2 minute video at the link, Andreesen said Kamala's team said it was already decided, there would only be a few companies going forward, and that Andreesen shouldn't even think about startups or independent companies.
I wondered how the AutoPen administration, under new management in 2025, planned to create state owned companies over the objections of Americans. Kamala's team said it was already decided.
Well, I can now see why they have US Government owned companies after I asked Grok to examine President Trump's December 20, 2017 Executive Order (EO) 13818 Executive Order Blocking the Property of Persons Involved in Serious Human Rights Abuse or Corruption.
I gave GROK a hypothetical scenario outlining foreign infiltration and asked how the President's EO could operate. GROK summarized the EO and responded to queries asking for scenario specifics (Social Media infiltrated). GROK confirmed that if used by foreign enemies for their purposes (Censorship, Propaganda) then the UNited States could seize the asset.
This explains the sale of Twitter. Prior ownership actually fought the sale to 'evil' Elon. I think they lost control when Twitter was seized by the government for violating human rights and corruption (and censorship) per Trump's EO. I think this is why Trump decides whether TikTok functions or not. The Government doesn't operate the assets seized but can hold it while issues are resolved, or engage to sell it. Same with Amazon etc. 23&Me, Alphabet, Youtube, META etc.
I also checked to see if foreign officials could be detained in the US if the EO was invoked against their assets. The answer is yet but not on its own; it requires additional laws. I asked because I believe Merkel and then-Prince Charles were detained and controlled at that point. For awhile they were forced to function as double agents to deceive others in their circle. If you read the GROK EO, these people's lives became miserable with no warning. I recall Anderso Cooper, son of a Gloria Vanderbilt, who is high in the Cabal's Satanic organization, blurted out on Twitter the night the EO took effect, some angry rant. It was soon deleted.
In GROK's analysis, even before selling off the asset, the order, which requires zero forwarning, can be dropped on a business freezing its ability to function. It chokes of donors and other work arounds. Brilliant.
I put the full GROK analysis in Festival.
So The Deep State thought it could steal the election, acquire the businesses held via Trump's EO, and prevent all other businesses from functioning. Loyal servants could have jobs in these companies. The rest of us ...not so much.
The White Hats could capture any of these tech giants on many serious crimes. Many still don't believe we were supposed to stay locked down forever during Covid, even after we researched the patents on tech which would enable that feature.

>>Changing the clock does not affect when the sun rises and sets at all.
*******************************************************
Of course. Whenever the sun sets, it will be whatever time the clock is set to, standard or 1 hour earlier (for my time zone). That impacts some people and all the details that surround their sleep.
>>And what’s the big deal anyway? So it gets dark or light on some man made time schedule? It’s an hour. One hour. 60 minutes.
*******************************************************
Light or dark may be of insignificance to some, but it is of great importance to others, and can affect one’s mood and sleep schedules significantly. What affects one person may not affect another. I respect it is not a big deal to you.
At 3pm many people are still out and about, running daytime errands, and don’t wish to be doing so when it is dark. Some have vision challenges and must limit their driving to daylight hours. Reducing their afternoon daylight time is a big deal for them.
>>I don’t care much since I’m now retired, but let’s be real. Put the time back to standard and live with whatever one hour brings.

Sounds good to me!

Perhaps I sounded a tad trite with my post?
The truth is, when I was working, I hated losing an hours sleep every spring. It was impossible to sleep at my normal “clock” time so I wound up staying up late and waking up early for work. (My husband, a perpetual type “A” loved it, and his cheerfulness in those horrible early mornings somehow compounded my misery)
I was constantly tired for the first month and never really got used to it. I didn’t care if it was dark in the morning or light in the evening, I just wanted my sleep schedule returned to normal.
All this sleep disruption for absolutely nothing - DST no longer served its original purpose, if it ever did, and needs to be abolished.
Anyway, this mini rant is over. Retirement solved everything. I no longer have a dog in this fight 😉
It is the tilt of the earth in winter in the Northern hemisphere which accounts for the early darkness. Time change is used to 'adjust' that.
Origin of DST
https://usafacts.org/articles/why-does-daylight-saving-time-exist/
daylight saving time was originally implemented over 100 years ago, in 1918 during World War I to help conserve fuel and power and extend the workday. Working during the sunlight hours meant burning less fuel, and the ability to work later into the day. The Standard Time Act of 1918, which established the time change, also established the nation’s official time zones.
Congress repealed daylight saving time after WWI ended. It was enacted again in 1942 during WWII and repealed in 1945.
The daylight saving procedures most people are familiar with came about in 1966 with the passage of the Uniform Time Act, which re-established the twice-yearly time change.
The most recent change to how Americans “save” daylight was 2005’s Energy Policy Act. This act extended daylight saving a few weeks, beginning the second Sunday of March, and ending on the first Sunday in November.

In other words, the government messing with us over unnecessary policies since 1966. “Uniform Time Act” and “Energy Policy Act”
Of course, if we can 'heat' the earth, we can change time.
OMW! You guys made me look this up. Never saw it before. Too clever.

I do not know the story of the Musk marriage, but being “unhappy” is not a sufficient reason to end your marriage when you have children. Will you then be “happy” when your poor children’s hearts have been broken? Far too much of this type of thinking has scarred our children.

Tuberville continues push to make Daylight Saving Time permanent: ‘Time for America to move forward and stop falling back’
https://1819news.com/news/item/tuberville-continues-push-to-make-daylight-saving-time-permanent-time-for-america-to-move-forward-and-stop-falling-back
I say let’s just stick with STANDARD TIME and leave the daggum clocks alone.
I completely appreciate trying to make standard time permanent. But DST? There are no advantages to that that I can figure out. There are parts of the world and even the US that don’t participate in DST. Making it permanent would makes the areas observing DST forever out of whack with those that don’t. At least the way it is now, they’re in sync for 6 months of the year. Thank you for fixing my incorrect understanding, lyby.
The way I see it - just put everything on standard time. If individuals or entities want to use DST for their start/stop times, they can do so of their own volition.
At TVA, our linemen, DST notwithstanding, would start at 6 AM in the summer because they wanted to get work done before the heat of the day set in. Would you rather be finishing up your day’s work at 1 PM when the temperature is at 90 and rising, or still have 2 hours to go in the same conditions?
The changing back and forth is the biggest problem for many people. Catching up on that lost hour of sleep in the spring takes a week or more. And frankly, it saves NO energy overall. That was a bunch of government hogwash.
