Natural products are not patentable per se; a unique procurement or delivery system could be attached to the product maybe, but still licensure and labelling (on market, advertising, promotion) via the FDA requires costly phase I, II, III, and then II studies. The manufacturer has NO incentive to do these costly studies and administrative filings if another drug house can come and sell their own product using the first manufacture’s licensure/labelling data.
It is the nature of this industry. On purpose no doubt.

One of the happiest moments of my life happened when I walked into my youngest daughter’s room one day. She had been struggling with spelling and other things at school. I went to let her know dinner was ready.
When I walked in she looked up at me from the novel she was reading and said with wonder in her eyes: “It’s like a movie in my head.” I knew then I never had to worry about her reading or schooling anymore.
Never a straight A student, She was the art/ideas type not the science/engineering type. Has gone on to get a Bachelors and a Masters in Fine Arts, was recognized at the national level her senior year of high school for her painting.
Currently serving as a bilingual project leader for a IT subdivision of Toyota, she has her life together.. just hope she can find the right guy because she doesn’t get out much.
“It’s like a movie in my head.” that simple sentence...it still makes my heart swell with pride and joy and a sense of immense relief that she’d be ok.
