Hardware drivers are specialized enough that other distros may or may not work. I'd stick with Pop!_OS as it comes pre-installed, and has all the required drivers set up properly.

Sorry for my late response, but I had to go out of town for a funeral, and just got back to FR.

I'm a retired Linux SysAdmin (for a few years now) and haven't done much with Linux since I retired, but I've always wanted to order a laptop from System76 - even when I was active in the industry - because I don't like spending hours messing with hardware drivers to get basic things to "just work" like they do on my MacBook.

I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger on a System76 laptop and keep it as my secondary (travel) laptop.
