Sorry but when I hear Maggot, I can only think of Telly Savalas in The Dirty Dozen.

Eat healthy bugs while on an emotionally healthy date night with your first cousin!

Two mega-ridiculous, but unfortunately true, news articles from The Babylon Bee's Not the Bee arm.

"A Trillion Cicadas. It's What's For Dinner."

Back in 2016 we had a 17 Year Cicada hatch in my neighborhood.

My dog loved them for dinner.

Every couple of hours he begged to go out.

His stools that week were filled with Cidada shells.

Supposedly saute'ed in butter they taste a lot like shrimp.

I didn't test the theory.

They can parade all the false data they want, but they’ll never convince any SANE person to eat bugs! Only insane people!

"The more you eat caterpillars, the more you'll have a long life," says Trésor Kisanbu.."

What is the average lifespan in the Congo these days?

Life expectancy in the DRC is 48 years for men and 52 for women. Comparatively, life expectancy in the U.S. is 76 years
for men and 81 for women. I'll stick with organic, mammalian meat for my protein.

I’m ok with eating bugs, as long as they live in the water - lobsters, crabs, shrimp, and crawdaddies. However, the Bible forbids it because they don’t have fins and scales.

If it happens, it happens.

Growing up people said we’d eventually be eating algae or plankton.

Is that so different from bugs?

Still, there’ll have to be a lot of processing.

Nobody wants to eat actual maggots if they look like maggots.

Gummy worms are probably the exception.

You can get $8 grasshopper tacos at a number of high end Mexican restaurants and food truck parks in Austin Texas. San Antonio same same. Seen them on the menu of a $45 per plate place in Miami too.

The two guys across the hall from my dorm at university were from Cameroon they routinely had fried locusts tossed in chili and lime or lemon if you didn’t know they were locusts you would have thought they were fried and dried chili shrimp th at you can get at every gas station is Central and South Texas they are ubiquitous from Waco south, you can find them in South or East Dallas as well.

Can’t wait for Prime Rib night. I think I’ll be one of those annoying people and take a picture of my food and send it to NPR. (Ok, probably not, but it was fun to think of it).
