BRAVE AI:

U.S. citizens do not need a passport to travel to or from Puerto Rico and the United States, as Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and the journey is considered domestic travel.

Travelers can use a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, for entry and exit.

However, starting May 7, 2025, the Real ID Act requires that state-issued driver’s licenses or identification cards be REAL ID-compliant for domestic air travel, so travelers should verify their ID’s compliance.

If a traveler makes a stop in a foreign country during their journey, a passport will be required to re-enter the United States.

Puerto Ricans don’t need papers to travel in the US. They are US citizens.
