Star Trek legend William Shatner was hospitalized for a medical emergency involving his blood sugar late Wednesday afternoon, sources with direct knowledge said.
Shatner, 94, who is beloved by Trekkies as the show's lead character Captain Kirk, is said to have experienced the health downturn while at his home in Los Angeles.
Insiders say that when the issue occurred, he called the emergency services and a Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance arrived on the scene.
He was purportedly taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and is now 'resting comfortably' and doing 'good,' the sources informed TMZ.
Shatner still has multiple acting projects in the pipeline and appears at fan events, including a panel at Dragon Con in Atlanta only last month.
Daily Mail has reached out to his representative for comment.

Amen.
I wondering how he was since I hadn’t heard anything for a while. At 94, things can go south very rapidly. Get well soon, Captain.
“Kirk is in Sick Bay, hope he gets better.”
I met Shatner at a Comicon several years back. Got to ask him a question. My question to him was, “who was a better singer, you or Nimoy?”
It got a chuckle and then, “Next question!”
I just watched Star Trek last night - the one with the actress and her father.
I used to watch it after school when it aired and he was my first crush. And then James West came along.....
Don’t say it Bones. Don’t say it!
Prayers for Captain Kirk!
Ooooo.....
I can’t speak to crushes, as I’m a normal male. But...
Did Shatner ever go up against Conrad in any show? If well written, that’d be one for the ages!
While he is best known for his Star Trek role, I will always consider Denny Crane to be his greatest gig.
I woke up at 3:00am and felt I had to say a prayer for him.
Weird.
I didn’t know he was having troubles.
Ahh hell. What an iconic actor in my life.
This one will hurt a little.
While he is and should be known for Star Trek he did some small parts that were amazing; 1. Reading of The Raven by Poe 2. And who can forget his portray of the man “seeing” delusions on twilight zone’s Nightmare at 20000 feet?
BTW if anyone is interested, he was the neighbor of my son-in-law’s parents for years. They have small farm down in Horse Country near Versailles Kentucky. They couldn’t see his house but some woods he owned adjoined some they owned. I think they talked to him a few times as friendly neighbors.
If Bones were attending to him we would know he’s in good hands but Bones isn’t around.
Sure hope he bounces right back. William Shatner is like Willie Nelson: an iconic nonagenarian, larger than life.
Anybody who’s anybody loves William Shatner.
If nothing else, it puts the captain of the Enterprise in the news right after
Charles “Charlie” James Kirk
...to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before.
Joseph warned the family that there were yet 5 more years of the severe famine, but when did the Torah record that it came to an end? Oh, it’s probably stashed in there somewhere, like everything else. Until it ends though
it’s like Star Trek, James Bond, Mission Impossible, Star Wars et al — always some next generation, movie, spin off, time warp and of course the franchises to keep it all going into perpetuity.

How about those songs?
To dream the impossible dream...
Climb every mountain...

To go boldly where many have gone before!
WTF, his name is Bill and he’s probably sick and tired of the whole “Capt. Kirk” thing by now.
I may catch some flak for this, but Captain Kirk was my hero when I was a kid. My parents were divorced, and I had no father in my life for five years. Captain Kirk became this young boy’s father, and I learned a lot from him.
The day we lose William Shatner will hit me hard.
Charlie’s full name is Charlie James Kirk.
Yes
Mine also.
