You have to understand that Christianity is naturally anti-Semitic in nature so it’s completely expected that he would say something like this. There are plenty of stories in the Christian’s NT that cast Jews in a negative light.
This might upset you Christians that read this, but here’s a good question.
During WW2, while the Jews were going through the Holocaust at the hands of the Germans, why weren’t they going through the same thing in Japan, an Axis power allied with Germany? Because there weren’t very many Christians in Japan. In Germany and other Nazi-occupied territories who was in charge? The Lutherans and Catholics.
Look at the Spanish Inquisition. It lasted from 1492 (actually 1478) until 1834. It was the Catholics persecuting the Jews in Europe and every Catholic-dominated country in the world.
The “Suffering Servant” in Isaiah 53 isn’t about Jesus. It’s the Jews whom have been suffering at the hands of the Christians for the last 2,000 years. It all goes back to the feud during the Bronze Age between Esau (aka Edom) and Jacob (Ya’akov).
I know I’m going to get a ton of crap from FReepers here so...FLAME ON!
When is FR going to get a “Block Troll” button?
“ You have to understand that Christianity is naturally anti-Semitic in nature so it’s completely expected that he would say something like this. There are plenty of stories in the Christian’s NT that cast Jews in a negative light”
Baloney. As to the first statement, it’s 100% wrong.
As to the second statement, yes, absolutely there are bad Jews in the NT. Plenty of bad Jews in the OT, too.
Where antisemites go wrong is they apply the criticism of some Jews onto all Jews. The Pharisees, in particular, were heretics pretending to be pious. This would be like calling all Catholics evil because Joe Biden and Nancy a Pelosi are evil. Or Baptists because Carter and Clinton were/are evil.
Um, there weren’t that many Jews in Imperial Japan.
And in Germany and the Nazi-occupied lands who was in charge?
The Nazis.
