Cheaper to bypass box dinners and do it yourself. I’ve got all kinds of pasta in the pantry.
Homemade stroganoff mm-hmm.
But now days you can buy powdered sour cream, cheese and tomatoes which means you can make your own shelf stable mixes at home and keep them in jar to be used as you want.
If you want to know how you can look up Tales from an Empty Nest and Rose red Homestead on YouTube.
There ya go, reminding me of a favorite childhood dish I've not made in my entire adult life at home. /s
On the list for winter comfort food...
We are having friends over for dinner in a few nights. The last time we got together I had mentioned that I wanted to make hamburger stroganoff sometime soon. They said, that sounds great! I don’t cut corners. I use good quality ground beef, fresh mushrooms, etc. It’s a homemade masterpiece of comfort.
I have never had Hamburger Helper, so I guess that’s a good thing.
Yep. For 2, half pound ground beef drained. Can of cream of mushroom, add milk. Cook to heat and add cooked egg noodles. Mix. Or use cooked, sliced potatoes instead of noodles.
Switch cream of mushroom to fiesta cheese soup and egg noodles to elbow. Cheeseburger Helper.
Serve with veggie or salad.
Completely agree, but if you’re in a big hurry, the Hamburder Helper stroganoff is quite good
