The US population is approaching a critical demographic milestone as deaths are now projected to exceed births as early as 2031, two years earlier than previously expected. This shift signals a trend toward near-zero population growth, raising concerns about the country's economic future and social support systems.
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) updated its population projections in September 2025, attributing the accelerated timing mainly to declining fertility rates and tightened immigration enforcement resulting from the Trump administration’s recent immigration policies. The Trump-era One Big Beautiful Bill Act, with its aggressive immigration crackdown, is projected to reduce immigration flows significantly, further dampening population growth.
According to the CBO, from 2026 to 2029, about 290,000 immigrants are expected to be removed from the country under this new legislation, plus an additional 30,000 departures considered voluntary. This reduction in immigrant families, historically contributing higher birth rates, coupled with a natural decrease in fertility rates, accelerates the timing when deaths surpass births.
Currently, the US population stands around 350 million and was previously expected to grow to 372 million by 2055. These new projections estimate a smaller overall population of 367 million by that year. Moreover, the working-age population is expected to shrink, posing a risk to the labor supply critical for sustained economic growth.

A putrid morbidly obese and horrific example of humanity. I'm not surprised by the numbers of folks my age dropping dead left and right because of their failure to curb their diets, prioritize exercise and selfcare.
It's as if folks forgot the basics of taking care of oneself physically & mentally.
The future belongs to whoever shows up. Folks like this dude won't be around long for the show.
“””So if we are going to shrink our population, we’ll end up becoming more like Japan.”””
Have you visited Japan in say the past 10 years?
If not, you may want to add it to your bucket list.
You will find that Japan with its slow population growth has the cleanest cities in the world.
I will take Japan over the graffiti and trash in the cities around the world anyday.
LOL, no it isn’t left wing propaganda, and as far as you thinking America is underpopulated, you can thank JFK and then LBJ for the last 120 million people and their offspring that you think has made us so much better than 1970 America when there was nothing we couldn’t do, and do quickly, and better than any other peoples.
Japan is a wonderful place to visit. I have not been there yet. That said, they’ve stagnated economically. In 1985, they had the second largest economy in the world. So basically, they just got old.
“”””The entire population of the earth will be declining over the next 50 years as women in 3rd world countries figure out how to have fewer babies.””””
What won’t change is that billions of those people will still be wanting to move to America.
But if you live in flyover country, let's say Nebraska or Montana, you will discover that this country is far from being overpopulated.
Maybe Ozempic will save him 🙃
Most excellent!!
Land is not a country. There is no infrastructure schools jobs etc. Get it?
You really are dumb.
This JAB, Did IT.

Consider this about growth.
We have witnessed companies that were initially very successful and kept expanding and expanding to the point they were not able to successfully manage the expansion and went bankrupt.
Yes, Japan was a large economy in 1990 until China was allowed into the WTO. And US and European companies outsourced to India in the 1990’s. So Japan dropped from being the second largest economy.
But it does not mean Japan has become a poor country.
“”””If you live in a major metropolitan area in the U.S., I can see where you can believe the lie that the U.S. is overpopulated.
But if you live in flyover country, let’s say Nebraska or Montana, you will discover that this country is far from being overpopulated.””””
Enjoy eating insects for breakfast when Nebraska and Montana have 100 million residents instead of eating corn flakes and wheaties.

You aren’t even close to guessing about me with your simple-minded dismissal of the reality of what this last 120 million people did to erase quality of life and even the advancing accomplishments of the American people, and your next 300 million imports won’t help it either.
California population in 1975 = 21.5 million.
California population in 2025 = 37.7 million.
Is California a better place to live today?
Read my post #46.
I was not talking about California lol.
If you live in California, then yes, I recognize that it is a problem.
If you’ve not been you need to go QUICKLY as when I was there in April there were a TON of Indian men running around. How long it can STAY clean is a topic for debate.
Their argument is that science and advanced engineering can keep an endlessly growing supply of new American humans from all over the 3rd world, alive.

You aren’t making sense, California IS your argument and the state of vast open expanses hasn’t even started getting to what you are promoting.

I was in Japan in March 2025. I did not see the TON of Indian men running around. Maybe the Indian men visited in April 2025 to see the cherry trees in full bloom.
