Between the machine gun sonar used in sea bottom mapping, and the low frequency thumping from rotating blades, it must be hell for these creatures dependent on their acoustic senses. They have a right to be pissed..

Or if right now they aren’t killing anyone on the boats, if we shoot them may they decide to fight back.

They're just as liable to take offense if we used pain as a deterrent. If they die for it, that's a self limiting behavior. OTOH, we could use a simple repellant, something that tastes awful, for example. The greenies would simply ban using boats; "The whales were there first."

IOW, like anything else in managing Nature, a solution set will likely require some experimentation.

The illegally fed, overpoulated deer in my area have a heard mentality of attacking dogs. I saw a fawn that still had a few spots try to attack a small dog.

The whales are sick and tired of hearing yacht rock.

Yes. They do like their yacht and roll, In concerts, while eating all the tidal pods.

Might be overfishing, orrrrr, it could be that no boaters have previously survived to tell the tale. More likely the latter. The orcas probably figure, “a lot of these ships are already on the bottom. No one will think that it wasn’t an accident.”

You can tell by the dorsal fin that one’s a female. Maybe there are calves involved.

Yeah..we had an issue too with people feeding deer in my area.

It got so bad that the five mile partially wooded 55mph road I need to drive down to get to my neighborhood, you had to do about 25-30mph or you would hit a deer around sunset or after dark. Then I did end up hitting one going about 60mph and totaled my car.

Well yes - we read regularly in today’s ecotistical Urban Legends Tales about heroic unswum dolphins pushing exhausted swimmers back to the dock, back to the beach to be rescued.

But, you see, nobody is left alive to tell the tales of those hundreds of other swimmers pushed out away from the beach by today’s under current of gangs of black leather teenage dolphins who just kill “for the fin of it”
