And NBC has made at least a gesture to distance itself from PMSNBC.
I have said for a very long time that the FCC should require these shows to have a chyron with the wording displayed as follows: “This program is a DONATION IN KIND to the DEMOCRAT PARTY.” For too long they have been spewing Democrat talking points. In this case Kimmel is a political activist. No one can seriously take him as a comedian.
Can you be investigated for lying? Yes if, for example, you’re filling out a form to obtain a security clearance and you lie about previous drug use or fail to admit prior arrests/convictions.
But telling lies on a dumb TV show to a bunch of dumb viewers? I’m not aware of any statue under Federal criminal code (18 USC) that would address that particular issue.
Mmmmmmmmmm! Not real sure. Isn’t lying covered by the 1st amendment?
