Retired now, I spent 40+ years as a Paramedic in Alaska. I have seen a number of bear fatalities and injuries.Brown bears will pick a person up by the head and shake them violently breaking the neck. Gruesome but quick.Black bears you down and rip you apart.Even more gruesom. Unless the bears were hobbled, it wouldn’t be much of a fight.
