I see the problem right in the first few paragraphs. The article states that the child changed in 8th grade and that mommy “...started to go through all of my daughter’s devices, old, obsolete i-phones and kindles.”

A child is 13 or 14 in grade 8 and the child has had MULTIPLE ‘obsolete i-phones and kindles’? The child has been spoiled, getting every new thing! Whatever the kid wants, she gets! THAT is the problem! Instead of trying to ‘buy’ her daughter’s love, how about spending TIME with the child?
