Free Republic is working good now. But yesterday and this morning I got a 'page not found' or something. Anyone know a specific reason for this?
Also I use to have an alternate spot to go to when FR wasn't working, but I forget which it was. Maybe facebook or Yahoo groups. What is a good current one that let's us converse about possible problems? I have 'Site outages' listed that are useful but prefer alternate blogs.
It does, but it isn’t very active, and I don’t think it’s a vetted site.
Well, I guess you have established that you are useless as an information source. “”My guess is” maintenance” is what you should have said!
Jim Robinson had posted on at least one of the “are you up sites” that his Son was working on what certainly did not sound like planned maintenance.
While FR was down for everyone [ unreachable ], somehow people kept posting. If you look at the post times from 09/05 to 09/08, there is no break in the posts for more than a hour or two. How does that happen?

That’s Jim’s brother who works on the web site.
Actually it’s all ball bearings!
I did a fakebook search and it didn’t show up
I took the time for rest and contemplation...scheduled some long overdue doctors appointments and finally got my brain damaged son into a critical care facility and put two vehicles up for sale.
John ROCKS. Hope he’s getting some much-deserved rest.
Am I logged in?
NOT USUAL ON A SUNDAY
Ridiculous
I think the server beeber was stuned. IDK if true.
This one does not require login, (or you can just close the login prompt and it will still let you in).

The rubber band broke.
One of the treadwheel hamsters died?
There is a Free Republic on Facebook group I check for updates on outages/etc.
At my end the whole net went down. “Internet not available right now.”
It was a DNS issue, when pinged freerepublic.com did not show packets lost. The site name did not resolve to the site name and try the class 6 IP address did reach the site eather.

It did not resolve but returned pings.
Jim posted there too. I found his comment last night.
