Dances With Wolves icon Graham Greene has died aged 73 after a long illness.
The acclaimed actor, who was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role as Kicking Bird in the 1990 Kevin Costner epic, passed away in a Toronto hospital on Monday.
His representative told Deadline: 'He was a great man of morals, ethics and character and will be eternally missed.'
'You are finally free. Susan Smith is meeting you at the gates of heaven,' he added, referencing the actor’s longtime agent who died in 2013.
Greene was known as an acting trailblazer, who raised the profile of Indigenous actors in Hollywood.
He married wife Hillary Blackmore in 1990 and the pair shared four children.
Greene, who was of Oneida First Nation and Canadian descent, was born on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario and worked as a welder, draftsman and steelworker before pursuing acting.

I had to unfollow him on FB during the first Trump turn due to his moonbat level of TDS posts. Sucks because Ived admired his films and TV since Clear Cut. Will still respect his work. RIP Mr Greene.
I liked him better in “Thunderheart.” he calls Val Kilmer the FBI guy the washington redskin.
Rest in Peace, man.
I wish I didn’t know any entertainer’s politics. I don’t want to know that. I want them to entertain me, differences pushed aside. I enjoyed GG in his different roles.
Yeah him and Wes Studie are into communism for some reason.
Not sure Will Sampson was. He was a big guy. Didn’t last long.
He narrated the live performances of Tecumseh! back in the day. It’s been many years since I’ve seen a live performance in Chillicothe, OH. It was always great.
I am completely in agreement.
Aww - I liked him.
First saw him in Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future.
“ooo - gotta get me one o’ those!” (in reference to getting his own power suit)
I enjoyed a lot of his work. He made a very evil Malachi Strand on Longmire.
That was a really good, little known movie. Thanks for the reminder-I’d forgotten about it.
Sorry to hear of his passing. May he rest in peace. I always enjoyed the roles he played. He played in “Longmire,” “Reservation Dogs”, and in “1883.” He had 8 upcoming roles...two completed, two post-production, and four pre-production. I hadn’t known he was a member of the Oneida Nation. I live in Oneida County in NY. The Oneidas sided with the colonists against the Mohawks in the Mohawk Valley during the Revolutionary War. The Oneidas have Turning Stone Casino not far from me.
I’ve seen Graham Greene in a number of movies and tv shows but I didn’t know he was on the Red Green Show.
Memory must be failing me because I watched quite a few episodes of it.
Sorry to hear about his long illness and passing.
Seymour has been starring in the delightful private detective series "Harry Wild" for the past four years on Acorn TV.
Unfortunate for Graham Greene. the actor........
The Comedians...
Our Man in Havana...
The Quiet American...
Et al....
Same here, yet there's always someone here on FR that has to fall all over themselves to be the first to bring it up. Unless they're running for office, I don't care about an entertainer's politics one way or the other.
One of my favorite actors. I really liked it when “They” gave him the opportunity to play non-Indian rolls which he handled with ease.
That’s right.
I don’t know if they will give me the same grace, but I don’t care what their opinions are.
Was in “The Green Mile”
I really wish more celebrities would realize that your view is probably shared by most people and shut up.
