I grew up in Cary. The last time I went to visit (2018), I didn’t recognize the place. Not only have town boundaries moved, but they’ve built so many new roads, malls, and subdivisions that I kept getting lost. But the most startling was that entire neighborhoods (new ones) appeared to be mostly Hindus. I went into a grocery store and felt like I was in Mumbai. This was in Morrisville—which when I lived there was nothing more than a crossroads near the airport—that had a great locally owned feed store where I would buy grain for my horses. It used to be all farmland around there... now it is subdivisions, strip malls and big box stores.

Cary, North Dakota, as in, the home of the SAS Institute (statistical programming language beloved of banks and insurance)?

...figures.

Condolences to you. Nothing hurts like losing your old home to foreigners.
