I can were my blood pressure by taking deep breaths and thinking of pleasant words like” tranquility, peace, calm, serenity.” I literally take a deep couple of breaths as they put the cuff on and, when it tightens, I slowly exhale while saying those words in my mind. Lowers it by 20 points, if I sit right and concentrate.
I also find that if the tech makes pleasant conversation with me, and takes my blood pressure at the very end of my history, it is lower than if I have just sat down. They usually do it twice and tell me I have “white coat syndrome.”
They tell me I have extremely high good AND bad cholesterol and want to put me on statins, which only have a 13% benefit for all the side effects. I tell them no because I only need to live ten more years. After that, I’m happy to go.

Glad you are not going on statins! There are many ways to lower BP. Whenever I go to DR BP is way up there in the stratosphere. At home it’s good, as long as no dramas going on. :-D
I do take herbs for the heart as I have had “incidents” and that definitely helps.
