A Florida jury has found Ryan Wesley Routh, 59, guilty on all charges related to his attempt to assassinate Donald Trump on Sept. 15, 2024, at @realDonaldTrumpβs golf course in West Palm Beach.
The verdict came after just 2.5 hours of deliberation:
- Guilty of attempting to assassinate a presidential candidate
- Guilty of assaulting a U.S. Secret Service agent
- Guilty on three federal firearms charges
Routh, a former @realDonaldTrump supporter from Hawaii, represented himself in court. His erratic and off-topic defense was repeatedly shut down by Judge Aileen Cannon, who presided over the case.
Prosecutors presented a written confession from Routh that read: βThis was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.β
He now faces life in federal prison.

π¨ BREAKING UPDATE: Trump Assassination Suspect Attempts Self-Harm in Courtroom
Just moments after being found guilty on all counts for attempting to assassinate President Trump, Ryan Wesley Routh caused chaos in the courtroom.
According to @FoxNews reporters inside the courtroom, Routh appeared to try and stab himself in the neck with a pen.
Four U.S. Marshals immediately intervened, dragging him from the room, removing his coat, shackling him at the waist and ankles, and escorting him back into the courtroom under heavy restraint.
This dramatic outburst followed his bizarre self-defense and courtroom behavior throughout the trial - which included quoting the Founding Fathers and refusing to testify.

Routh didn't get the fame he wanted from being a political assassin / hero to the DemonicRats, so he figures he'll get that fame by having blood gush out of his neck in public.
What the ...?: "Routh, a former @realDonaldTrump supporter from Hawaii"
I’m wondering when the investigation into the Butler PA assassination attempt will be made public. That’s the serious one.
