"Free thought" is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or dogma.

Lord, just had a flashback to the key interlock system at Grant Substation, a power substation built in the 1940 era, that has a ‘dummy proof” key interlock system whereby you had captured keys and could not go on to the next step of a switching procedure until you had completed the present step and had inserted and turned the key, which released the key for the next step. When releasing the key for the next step, the key from the previous step was, in turn, captured.
