I am blessed to be reminded to pray by those on this thread who seek it so often before I do! Perhaps you will pray for my understanding in this matter as I don't want to be too jaded by the world, while I explain my view below.
I think they are celebrating the advancement of their evil plans. To celebrate the assassination of someone they don't like exceeds the bounds basic humanity.
In an email to someone I said that watching the revelries of the murderous left gave me the same spiritual recoil that I experienced watching the evil revelries of those characters in the movie Narnia, who gather to bay and moan their excitement and blood lust moments before stabbing Aslan to death, who lies bound and seems helpless at their feet.
I'm not suggesting Charlie was equivalent to Christ, but I see a direct comparison of the spirit which motivates those who take pleasure in murdering a 'sacrificial lamb' and preening about it.
Charlie could not be perfect as we yet live on this earth, but he was so much better than most, so much more devout in his faith and in the way he choose to spend the hours of the day on bringing the truth to young people starved for it, because he cared about them and he was fearless. Even if they hated him for it, he cared too much to let them wander lost among the indoctrination and propaganda.
While killing Charlie was emblematic of killing goodness, decency, truth etc., it's not that the left is too stupid to know not to celebrate. It's that they are too evil to resist.
