Have I missed the part where the FBI tested the assassination bullet against the gun they found in the woods and came out with a definitive statement that the found-gun was the weapon used to kill Charlie?
Haven’t heard that the actual bullet was found yet. It likely spalled and fragmented when it hit the vest. Without that there’s nothing to compare a test firing to.
They could do a metallurgical comparison with the rest of the rounds if the bullet is shattered.

But the constitution says that we - and they - can speak freely. It doesn’t say that such speech won’t be without consequences, like being fired or having some strong argument. However, nothing illegal is warranted if the speech is not to your liking.
I mean, realistically, (and I won’t do it obviously), I could walk through a black neighborhood yelling the “N” word. Why would I do that? I’m not that stupid. Nobody has a right to beat me up for doing that but dollars to donuts, that is exactly what would happen.
Used to be, back in the day, some sort of concept of “fightin’ words”. Not sure if that was just a quote from an old western movie, of if the courts recognized that in the past. Anyway, me doing that would be “fighting words” because it wouldn’t serve any purpose but to agitate, to start a fight.
For example, an M-1 Carbine paratrooper folds up to 26 inches. That would be back-packable. The shortest the rifle in the pic could break down would be 32 inches. Something would be sticking out. And I’ve not seen a pic where there was room in the guys britches for the stock. I’m not yet buying that the rifle in the pic was the one he used——maybe a waster?

And yes, Mauser is more of a style, not a brand name. Several manufacturers copied the rifle because it was a good design for the time. It is true that rounds need to be stripped from the magazine due to the much desirable controlled feed of the Mauser action. Assuming that is a WWII era action it was almost certainly rebarreled to 30-06 which was a very popular thing back when. That stock would be a more modern upgrade as they didn't exist at that time but a lot of those old sporters are still around. Many of them were quite good.

I think my prior post was poorly focused on the wrong question - what did they expect to get out of it. I agree with you that in some ways - it backfired. It's as if Lefties didn't know the crowds that used to cheer for them were astroturf. They aren't used to life without propaganda funds to smooth the way. Having high profile murders so close together could provide optics to refute of the accolades Trump is receiving for reducing crime.
The execution of innocents in schools, trains and public speaking events etc. had me wondering why the Deep State seems to be 'personalizing' Charlie's murder (elite sniper, celebrations etc). Yes, CIA tactics like terrorism have many uses - but I think something's different here.
In Charlie's execution, operatives and idiots alike are emphasizing their approval behind shooting a nonviolent unarmed man the same way terrorists 'take credit' for a bombing. They are intent on celebrating as if it's a sporting event and their team just 'won' a point. I believe they want us to know it's a message sent, 'From me, to you'.
I think it's likely The Won behind Charlie's assassination didn't want 'credit' diffused too much. I think Obama's condolence remarks were false, excessive and prim; I think he wanted Trump to know who was responsible for the execution. The Evergreen school shooting - might that be Hillary's response to the DOJ's subpoenas? There maybe more going on behind the since Hillary was subpoenaed (August 5) and Bill surfaced in the Sept 2 release of Epstein files.
I have thought that 'The Ukraine' heatesup every time there was an Epstein exposure intended to prevent President Trump from releasing the files. I don't know if the murder of the Ukrainian refugee is related, but perhaps President Trump's statements about wanting the 'dying to stop' in Ukraine are being refuted in her death in the USA. Analyst Alexander Mercouris believes that Zelensky has finally realized that Trump will never provide US military as peace keepers, but NATO will never accept this.

The kid was 22 - could have bought a pretty accurate bolt action gun for a pretty good price. I’m thinking like my Savage 10 (predecessor to the 110, I think) which is pretty doggone accurate. Taken it out to 1000 a couple of times.
Anyway, it does feel like the pieces kind of match but kind of don’t match. Some things too easy and questionable. From the gun they found (and some very good info here about the Mauser action that most don’t know) to the tranny-oriented messages on some bullets found with the conveniently placed weapon - too easy in a way.
