Since all this stuff was found to still be there, the end must have come quickly before anyone could pack up and move, not slowly over time.
A huge amount of water must have been suddenly added to the oceans to raise the sea level that quickly..............
I’d imagine they just weren’t great housekeepers, for that matter, even with the gradual rise that happened, the waves at the temporary shoreline moved stuff around.
