Arch Manning’s long-awaited (and much-hyped) 2025 debut turned out to be a showcase instead for defending national champion Ohio State’s defense. Manning, the consensus Heisman favorite entering Week 1, struggled to solve new Buckeyes defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s scheme. He finished 17-of-30 passing for 170 yards, a late touchdown and an interception — plus 38 yards rushing — in a 14-7 loss.

“The entire state of Louisiana knows how over-rated he is.”
The entire state of Louisiana knows nothing about Arch Manning, only that he played in a high school team in New Orleans and was a standout.
It's only the first game. He's the better athlete than Eli and Peyton.
But we all know that Peyton would have been studying the playbook right now.
Not sure if Arch is like that.
“Manning sucked! Not even a glimpse of greatness the entire game.”
Watch Terry Bradshaw scoff at you come the first Sunday.
Correction...they are both his uncles. His dad is Cooper, the non-football playing brother.
**Don’t you think it’s a little early to call the kid a bust?**
We saw him last year. We know all eyes were on him. Wasn’t good then either.
It was also a crappy game plan from a very overrated coach....should’ve got the RB’s and especially TE Jack Endries more involved in the passing game from the get go...and i mean they should’ve been first read/primary targets...
Yes- i am aware- but my correction was based on the fact Peyton had the weaker arm of Archie’s offspring- in fact many claimed in 1997 Peyton would not be a good NFL QB because of a weak arm and preferred Ryan Leaf....
Eli could spin it...
Now it’s Florida St. vs. Alabama. Alabama’s losing-Trump effect?
I enjoyed watching the Auburn QB yesterday-1st half. Looked for opportunities to run but knew where his openings were. Threw well too.
A stand out at a small private school. Miles Brennan was as well. It’s over now. Word is out. If he was so good he would have started last year.
But then again, maybe Texas is just horrible this year and Manning had no help. Regardless, they made Ohio State look better than they are.
Of course, it's early in everybody's season.
Manning is Vince Young 2.0
Both can run; neither can pass.
Neither can hit a barn door from 20 feet!
Sheduer Sanders 2.0?
Redshirt SOPHOMORE. He’s been there for 2 years already, but didn’t play a lot. If you play in fewer than 4 games in a season, you’re allowed to red-shirt that year.
Here are his stats for 2023 and 2024.

You never know; he might have been an awesome kicker if he ever got the chance.
He may need more time to develop so he won’t enter the draft until 2027.
That was his 2024 season. I believe he is not in his Junior year, and played in 1 game, 1 as the starting QB. He had 1 TS pass, but also had 1 interception, losing to The buckeyes 14-7 at Ohio State, which really isn’t that bad.. Since I really do not watch football much anymore, I have no clue how many games have been played, but looked and it appears that was their only game so far..
It’s too early to call him a bust, yes. He will improve.
For reference, though, Julian Sayin (Ohio State QB) is a redshirt freshman. He did enough, but it was really the Buckeye defense that kept them in the game. Matt Patricia really shook things up on the defensive side of the ball.
“If he was so good he would have started last year.”
Texas had an excellent quarterback in his final year.
Texas was ranked #1 and Ohio State was ranked #3. You’ve gotten your rankings mixed up. The Shoe, when it’s loud, can be formidable. Today the crowd was loud.
His numbers looked decent, but he wasn’t able to win the game. Too early to call for a new starter, but Texas shouldn’t fall into the trap Georgia did last year, sticking with the top dollar guy instead of going with a better quarterback after it became obvious that the coach had chosen poorly.
